Our organization at a glance
A not-for-profit organization founded in 1904, CAA-Quebec is listed in the Quebec Enterprise Register under the name Automobile et Touring Club du Québec. The organization also oversees the other companies under its responsibility: CAA-Quebec Travel, CAA-Quebec Auto and Home Insurance Inc., 4 driving schools in the Montreal area, and the CAA-Quebec Foundation. All income generated by these companies’ operations is paid to CAA-Quebec, the non-profit organization.
The Board of Directors and Executive Committee oversee the governance and development of the organization and the Foundation, for the benefit of members and the community.
CAA-Quebec ’s directors: people with experience
Like any Board of Directors worthy of the name, CAA-Quebec is tasked with overseeing the governance of the organization and supervising the activities of its senior management, on behalf of and in the interest of members. It also ensures its financial viability, in compliance with the organization’s mission statement.
Each administrator is elected for an initial term of three years, and may be re-elected to additional terms.
The Board:
- monitors the progress of results for the organization as a whole and adopts governance practices;
assists in mapping out and following up on the strategic and business plans;
appoints the President and Chief Executive Officer and supports that person in his/her duties;
validates compensation structures and methods;
evaluates its operations, gauges its effectiveness, and contributes to achievement of the directors’ objectives.

The CAA-Quebec Executive Committee, integral to the planning of the organization’s corporate strategy, comprises the President and CEO along with the vice presidents. A forum for exchanges and thinking, the committee sets CAA-Quebec’s priorities and oversees its future, while promoting collaboration among its teams.

Annual General Meeting of CAA-Quebec Members
In accordance with its obligations, CAA-Quebec holds its General Meeting once a year around mid-April, alternating between Quebec City and Montreal.
CAA-Quebec Foundation
The CAA-Quebec Foundation is a charitable organization created in 2008 for the purpose of improving road safety through research, awareness raising and education, and continues to make great strides in this area. Headed by André Durocher—a former police officer expert in road safety and outstanding communicator—it has the wind in its sails!
