Strike at Canada Post: CAA-Quebec goes into solution mode
We are pulling out all the stops to minimize the impact of this conflict. Solutions customized to each situation are being deployed to meet your needs. We thank you sincerely for your understanding.
Young people and driving
The CAA-Quebec Foundation raises awareness among the young (and not so young) of the dangers of distracted driving and impaired driving. How? By organizing awareness-raising activities in schools, sharing information and providing useful tools.
Road safety awareness workshops for youth - Not my ride!
Cannabis and driving
This workshop presentation allows students to experience the effects of cannabis on driving—and on the cognitive functions of the brain—using simulation goggles. It’s a hands-on activity that has a real impact:
Fun and interactive session
Open discussions on solutions and safe ride options
Distracted driving and alcohol-impaired driving
Young people will experience what it feels like to drive impaired with goggles that simulate dizziness, visual distortion, loss of balance, slow reaction time, etc. The following issues will also be discussed:
Driver distraction – Phones, GPS or infotainment screen, music, food, makeup, etc.
Speeding and dangerous driving
Driver fatigue – One of the leading causes of death on Quebec roads.
15 pairs of VR goggles and two different videos (from the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec) are available, enabling several young people to take part in the experience simultaneously.
Partnership
For a second year in a row, in partnership with Operation Red Nose, the CAA‑Quebec Foundation invites young people to participate in awareness workshops that empower them to answer Not my ride! when the driver isn’t at their sharpest.
As such, throughout the school year, specialists from both organizations will be visiting high schools across Quebec to host the Distracted driving and Drinking and driving workshop, which is part of the Not my ride! program.
