Reinventing normalcy

We're building a future with the creativity of our staff and by learning to forge a new pathway as it is unfolds.

The undeniable truth is that the pandemic has compelled us to greet autumn with combined vigilance and precaution. Various situations experienced in different parts of the world suggest that neither the new normalcy nor the slightest sense of economic revival can be taken for granted. Success will ultimately depend upon each of us doing our part in the various government-recommended efforts to contain this virus. A great collective solidarity is imperative.

As our familiar habits undergo dramatic change, new trends have emerged and are starting to shape a new reality. Some of these are clear, like the shift to digital activities in various aspects of our lives. It’s never been so easy to shop from the comfort of home, organize virtual get-togethers or manage leisure pursuits by just picking up a phone. Remote working involves a different pace, and our lives assume a new perspective. Some people have discovered latent artistic talents; others have taken up pursuits like baking and gardening, or else dramatically changed their routines. The possibilities are endless. More time spent at home has inspired us to make our lives cozier. And while we no longer venture too far from home, our daily excursions evolve, shaped by the pandemic’s felt effects on our usual modes of mobility. We become fearful of mass transit; walk or bike more; give up ridesharing in favour of driving alone, etc. In the process, many of us will rediscover neighbourhood shops and local products. Supplanting one’s past routine of métro, boulot, dodo (commute, work sleep), these new and associated trends may have a lasting and beneficial impact on people, companies and society as a whole. We must be attuned to them as they will shape our future.

CAA-Quebec has also adapted and evolved along with your changing needs. Each day, I’m proud to see our staff still there for you, when and where it counts. We’re building a future with their creativity and by learning to forge a new pathway as it unfolds. Our employees are the human face of CAA-Quebec, embodying the committed and generous brand it has been for the past 115 years, and counting. That is evident in our magazine, packed with useful information designed to simplify your daily routines and guide your future getaway dreams. This year, the uncertainty of “back-to-school” is unlike any other. But it is by staying united and ready to adapt, that we will avoid a second wave and enjoy this season to its fullest.

Have a wonderful fall.
