As I write this editorial, things are happening so fast that I can no longer keep track of the changes I make. This is unquestionably the time for direct action and global solidarity so that, together, we can work to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. The past few weeks have seen a proliferation of difficult, trying and heartbreaking situations. Fortunately, we’ve also witnessed responsible acts, both altruistic and brave, and the many inspiring and uplifting personal stories that accompany these acts.
We at CAA-Quebec obviously share your hopes and concerns. United and devoted to assisting you in good times and bad, our employees fully understand your needs and worries. These people are our greatest strength. From the first hours of this crisis, we have adapted and outdone ourselves ever y day to prevent the spread of the virus, taking concrete steps to ensure the welfare of our staff, our members and the general public.
What a sense of pride we felt both in repatriating some 2,000 travellers from the four corners of the globe and in our ability to provide roadside assistance to our members here at home. Nor will we forget the tremendous effort in swiftly organizing teleworking, thus marshalling the bulk of our services to 1.3 million Quebecers. Wherever you happen to be – at home, travelling, in your car – or if you have questions about insurance coverage, rest assured that we’re just a phone call away.

Since mobility is our passion and mission, CAA-Quebec is also busy figuring out and planning for the next eventuality. Fortunately, this crisis will come to an end. Lessons will be learned and a great many things will change in every aspect of society.
Li fe wi l l resume its normal course. Our dreams of new horizons and our wanderlust will not disappear. Around the world, ways of life and of travel will alter. There will be increased vigilance, prevention, preparation and protection. In Quebec as elsewhere, people will adapt to this new reality and you can continue to count on CAA-Quebec because, as always, we’ll be here to help you.
This editorial is not only a look ahead but also a tribute to our employees, partners, affiliates and recommended companies. We thank them for being with us for our members. There will forever more be a Before COVID-19 and an After COVID-19. I am proud of our collective solidarity. Our ability to move forward gives me hope.
