Duties of a Patrol Chief
The Patrol Chief is in charge of all coordination tasks, as well as being a resource and inspiration for the other patrollers. If you’re well organized, a strong team player and have safety at heart, supervising a Safety Patrol is a real joy. You will have to:
- Choose which patrol(s) to set up and target the areas to be patrolled.
- Recruit patrollers.
- Organize training for patrollers.
- Distribute yellow shoulder belts and make sure young patrollers wear them correctly.
- Define work schedules and appoint replacements.
- Motivate young people by monitoring their work and holding regular meetings.
- Evaluate patrollers.
- Reward the patrollers.
